Installing Pro
Produktpass Pro is a plugin of its own that runs next to the free Produktpass for WooCommerce. This is how you install it and enter your licence key.
Produktpass helps you with the battery passport and the battery QR code under Regulation (EU) 2023/1542. The plugin's texts, templates and notes are not legal advice. You remain responsible for your duties and for the accuracy of your data. For a binding answer on your own case, ask a lawyer.
Uploading
- Download the ZIP file with the link on the thank-you page or in the e-mail.
- In WordPress, open “Plugins > Add New Plugin” and click “Upload Plugin”.
- Choose the ZIP file, install and activate Pro. Produktpass for WooCommerce must be active; if it is missing or too old, Pro names the version it needs and sets up none of its features until then.
Entering the licence key
Open “WooCommerce > Produktpass > Pro licence”, enter the key in the form PPRO-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX and click “Save key”. Pro activates the licence for this website and shows its state, the end of the paid period and the bound website.
After that Pro shows the saved key only with its last four characters. An empty field keeps it; you simply enter a new key over it. A lost key you request again on the page Manage licence.
Updates
Pro checks its licence once a day. WordPress offers the updates on its update screen like any other plugin's; “Check now” on the page “Pro licence” asks at once.
If Pro cannot reach the licence server, it keeps working with the stored licence as long as it is valid: at most 30 days after the last successful check and never beyond the paid period plus 14 days.
Moving a licence
A licence is valid for one production website. On another website the page “Pro licence” offers “Move licence to this site”; the previous website loses the licence at its next check. A licence can move three times in 365 days.
“Release this site” and deleting Pro end the binding without counting as a move.
Staging and development websites
Pro activates development websites (localhost and names ending in .localhost, .local, .test or .example) as development websites by itself. You activate a staging website with “Activate as staging site”. Development and staging websites together may be three; all of them receive updates.
When the licence ends
Pro's own screens become read-only, the import and the mapping stop, and there are no more updates. Earlier batches and the export of the batteries stay downloadable, and every passport page stays online, including those of single batteries, because the addresses belong to the free plugin.
A new subscription with the same e-mail address makes Pro fully usable again at the next check; your key stays valid.
