CSV import and export
With Produktpass Pro you fill many passports at once from a CSV file, for example from a table of your supplier. A dry run shows every change before anything is saved.
Produktpass helps you with the battery passport and the battery QR code under Regulation (EU) 2023/1542. The plugin's texts, templates and notes are not legal advice. You remain responsible for your duties and for the accuracy of your data. For a binding answer on your own case, ask a lawyer.
The file
- a CSV file (
.csvor.txt) with the semicolon as separator, - in UTF-8, with or without BOM, or in Windows-1252; the plugin detects Windows-1252, converts the file and says so,
- at most 50,000 rows and at most 20 MB or the smaller limit of your host (the smaller of
upload_max_filesizeandpost_max_size); the page “Import” names the limit that applies.
The columns
The first row names the columns:
skufinds the product by its SKU;artnris the same value under JTL-Shop's name. Without an SKU,gtinsearches by the GTIN.level(optional):model,batchoritem.- then one column per field with its key, such as
battery_categoryorweight_kg; texts per language as<field>.deand<field>.en. - Rows of single batteries add
serial,batch,manufacture_date,item_statusand the battery's fields.
The values
- An empty cell keeps the stored value.
#LEERempties a field.- Numbers may have a comma or a point as decimal separator.
- An unknown SKU is an error of that row; it does not affect the other rows.
Dry run and import
- Open “WooCommerce > Produktpass > Import” and choose the file.
- Click “Check the file (dry run)”. The plugin reads every row, works out every change and saves nothing; the list shows each row's result and every error.
- If everything is right, click “Import now”. Exactly the checked file is imported; the plugin recognises it by its checksum.
Large files run in the background in parts of 100 passports or 500 batteries. Imports and their reports are kept for 90 days.
An export from JTL-Shop
You import the CSV export of Produktpass for JTL-Shop unchanged: the column artnr counts as sku. For this the SKUs in WooCommerce must match the article numbers in JTL-Wawi.
The export
“Export all” under “Passports” writes the same format, with the batteries with a serial number. Exporting and importing again results in no change; so the export serves as a backup and as a template.
